Saxophonist Armando Solis captivates audiences with his dynamic performances and versatile musicality. With a vast background performing everything from classical and sacred music to jazz, latin and contemporary. His performance background has seen him grace the stage both locally and internationally. Armando’s performance credits include the Arvada Center, the King Center, the University of Colorado Boulder and notably, performed at the Mid Europe Festival in Schladming, Austria as a member of the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project.
As an active performer, Armando currently holds seats in numerous ensembles including the Colorado Wind Ensemble and the Thornton Community Band. He is a founding member of the Smoke Saxophone Quartet, a jazz saxophone quartet with a passion for bringing music from across the genres, ages and styles to audiences with a saxophone twist.
Armando's commitment to music extends beyond performance to nurturing young talent. He currently serves as director of bands at Prairie View High School in Henderson Colorado as well as taught saxophonists across the Front Range. His involvement with the Thornton Community Band, and his directorship of the Thornton Big Band reflects his passion for community engagement, education and collaboration.
